History of The Club
Capital Cricket Club was founded in 1999, with its roots stemming from a group of friends with a strong passion for cricket.
Capital initially started playing non-competitive cricket between friends in the local parks of East London. It was a light-hearted affair with not much purpose or ambition.
After a while, much interest was generated and an idea was put forward to form a cricket team with the view to playing competitive cricket.
Initially Capital started playing friendlies, through the IBEX Cricket League, the goal being to obtain full membership (of IBEX league). Capital played in this league for one season, before joining the Middlesex Premier Cricket League. Capital has been in the Middlesex Premier League since 2001
This year the club decided branch out into Chess Valley League to further enhance the club and start playing a better standard of cricket with better playing facilities. This will be our first season and we are immensely looking forward to it.
Capital is a new club with goals to build a club with many teams and a long history. We are always looking for keen cricketers who love the game and want to play it in its true spirit.
